Resource Family Approval
Butte College FKCE offers Resource Family Approval (RFA) classes for those that are going through the process of becoming foster parents, relative caregivers or anyone that is going to care for a child that is not their own. There are seven three-hour classes (pods), for a total of 21 hours, required by Butte County Children's Services. They do not have to be completed in order.
How to Become a Resource Parent
While RFA PODs are designed for prospective foster families, anyone is welcome to
attend and there is no charge.
All classes are subject to cancellation and may be cancelled due to lack of pre-registration.

In-person classes are held at the Butte College Skyway Center - 2480 Notre Dame Blvd, Chico, CA 95928 unless otherwise noted.
Online options are available for certain pods only. At the time, not all pods are available online. Online classes are a hybrid modality, where some participants participate online and some participate in-person.
Registration for online classes must be completed at least 24 hours prior to the start of the class for planning purposes.
